Jairo Labra Huitron ID’d as Boy Hospitalized after Elgin Pedestrian Accident on U.S. 290 near Christensen Road

Elgin, Texas (June 13, 2019) – The 6-year-old boy who was struck and injured by a big rig on Tuesday afternoon near Elgin has been identified as Jairo Labra Huitron, 6, according to a local news source.

The incident took place just after 4 p.m. June 11, on U.S. 290 near Christensen Road.

Police said an 18-wheeler went around an Elgin ISD school bus and hit Huitron as he was getting out of the bus.

Huitron was conscious and alert but was airlifted to a hospital as a precaution.

The driver of the 18-wheeler stopped at the scene after the incident.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
