Jashadrian Morgan Injured in Fatal Crash on Interstate 30 in Franklin County

Jashadrian Morgan Hospitalized after Franklin County Crash on Interstate 30 near Mount Vernon

Franklin County, Texas (July 18, 2023) – Jashadrian Morgan, 34, of Mt. Pleasant, was injured in a traffic crash that left a 9-year-old child dead on Saturday afternoon in Franklin County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The deadly crash happened at about 12:30 p.m. Saturday, July 15, on Interstate 30, just east of Mount Vernon.

DPS said Morgan was driving eastbound and had slowed down or stopped in the traffic lane because of the other vehicles moving over for an emergency vehicle stopped in the shoulder.

A pickup, driven by Gary Harper, 57, of Carrolton, was also traveling eastbound and hit Morgan’s car, which then struck an SUV that was stopped in the eastbound shoulder, driven by Autumn Graves, 45, of Farmersville.

Morgan suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. A 9-year-old passenger in Morgan’s vehicle died at the scene.

No one else was injured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
