Jessica Postlewait, Christopher Cardona and Chris Gomez Hospitalized after Martin County Crash on State Highway 349 near Midland

Martin County, Texas (August 1, 2023) – Jessica Dawn Postlewait, 30, of Lamesa, Christopher Barron Cardona, 30, of Lamesa, Chris Andrew Gomez, 28, of Andrews, were injured after they were involved in a deadly crash on Monday morning in Martin County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The wreck occurred at around 6:24 a.m Monday, July 31 on State Highway 349, about 12 miles north of Midland.

DPS said two pickup trucks were heading southbound when one of the drivers, now identified as Cardona, started slowing down due to another crash.

Cardona’s vehicle was rear-ended by a truck, driven by Postlewait.

Chavez who a passenger in Postlewait’s vehicle was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Postlewait, Cardona and his passenger, Gomez, were all transported to Midland Memorial Hospital where I’m they were listed as being in stable condition.

Road conditions were clear and dry. The posted speed limit for road was 75 mph.

The crash remains under investigation.
