Pedestrian Killed in Crash on I-10 in Orange County

One Killed in Orange County Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 10

Orange County, Texas (October 12, 2023) – According to the Texas DPS, a pedestrian was killed Tuesday morning in a crash in Orange County.

The deadly accident happened around 1:40 a.m., October 10, on Interstate Highway 10, near the 876-mile marker.

DPS said the pedestrian was walking in the roadway when he was struck by a westbound Freightliner truck tractor semi-trailer driven by 27-year-old Jose Cabrera of Florida.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

Cabrera was uninjured in the crash.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
