Kerri Forbus Killed, Marian Scott and Steven William Injured in Young County Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 380

Young County, Texas (October 10, 2023) – A woman was killed, and two other people were injured Saturday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Young County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The fatal crash happened around 12:55 p.m., October 7, on U.S. Highway 380, six miles east of Graham.

DPS said Kerri Forbus, 43, of Newcastle, was driving a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox westbound while Marian Scott, 60, of Bacliff, Texas, was driving a 2011 Ford F-150 that was towing a 2019 homemade trailer eastbound.

Forbus failed to drive in a single lane, went into oncoming traffic, and hit the F-150.

Forbus was pronounced dead at the scene. She was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Scott was taken to Graham Regional Medical Center with incapacitating injuries.

Steven William, 69, of Decatur, who was in the F-150, was taken to GRMC with non-incapacitating injuries.

Scott and William were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
