Gabriele Davila Dies in Leon Valley Crash on Grissom Road

Leon Valley, Texas (June 23, 2019) – The man who was killed Friday morning after a police chase ended in a traffic accident in Leon Valley has been identified as Gabriele Davila, 34, authorities said.

The deadly accident happened on Grissom Road on Friday, June 21.

According to a local news source, police officers were notified that a car was stolen from a Leon Valley home.

When officers spotted the car and tried to stop it near the intersection of Bandera and Grissom roads, the driver sped off.

The suspect crashed into the rear of a couple’s vehicle that was waiting to turn left onto Old Grissom Road, which caused a chain reaction crash. The stolen vehicle then drifted off and collided head-on with a silver Toyota driven by Davila.

Davila was pronounced dead at the scene. His coworker was injured and was transported to University Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. The suspect and two other people were also transported to the hospital with unspecified injuries.

Authorities said the suspect is facing several felony charges.

The crash remains under investigation.
