Conelia Hillis Killed, Desiree Brown and Shane Whitfield Injured in Naples Two-Vehicle Crash on W.L. Doc Dodson Boulevard (US Highway 67)

Naples, Texas (June 5, 2020) – A woman was killed, and two other people were injured Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Naples, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 7:59 a.m. June 4, in the 500 block of W.L. Doc Dodson Boulevard West (US Highway 67).

According to a preliminary investigation, a 2014 Ram truck was traveling westbound on the highway while a 2008 Kia Sorento was leaving the parking lot of the Spring Market Grocery store.

The Kia failed to yield the right of way and collided with the Ram.

The Kia driver, Conelia Hillis, 47, of Naples, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in the Kia, Desiree Brown, 19, of Naples, was taken to Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler with life-threatening injuries.

The Ram driver, Shane Whitfield, 39, of Simms, was taken to Titus Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
