Lorenzo Venancio Estrada Killed, Laura Munoz Solice Injured in Gaines County Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 214

Gaines County, Texas (July 28, 2020) – One person was killed, and four others were injured in a head-on collision Friday night in Gaines County, eight miles northwest of Seminole, according to DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 10:00 p.m., July 24, on State Highway 214.

DPS said a pickup truck was heading southbound on the highway when it crossed over into the northbound lane and crashed head-on into an SUV.

The pickup driver, Lorenzo Venancio Estrada, 59, of Crane, was taken to University Medical Center in Lubbock, where he was pronounced dead.

The SUV driver, Laura Munoz Solice, 48, of Aurora, Colorado, was taken to UMC with non-incapacitating injuries.

Three teenage girls in the SUV were taken to UMC with non-incapacitating injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
