Katy Lynn Johnson Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Airport Boulevard in East Austin

55-Year-Old Katy Lynn Johnson ID’d as Woman Killed in East Austin Pedestrian Accident on Airport Boulevard near East 12th Street

Austin, Texas (March 31, 2020) – The woman who was killed Friday night in a pedestrian accident in East Austin has been identified as 55-year-old Katy Lynn Johnson, according to the police.

The deadly accident was reported around 8:30 p.m. on March 27, on Airport Boulevard near East 12th Street.

Police said Johnson was walking from the eastbound curb to the westbound curb, outside of a crosswalk, when she was hit by a black 2011 Nissan Altima that was traveling southbound in the outside lane of Airport Boulevard.

Investigators said Johnson was possibly struck by another vehicle that fled the scene.

Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The Nissan driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.

An investigation into the crash is underway. Anyone with information about the crash is urged to call Austin police vehicular homicide unit detectives at 512-974-8544. Tipsters can also use the Austin PD app.
