Keany, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening head and leg injuries. He was later pronounced dead.

The crash remains under investigation.

We pass our sincere condolences to the family and friends of John Emmet Keaney.

Most motorcycle crashes are caused by negligent drivers who don’t keep a proper lookout or fail to yield the right-of-way. Because motorcyclists are vulnerable, their injuries are usually severe, often suffering from road rash, broken bones, brain injuries, amputations, or spinal cord injuries. In some cases, the accident results in death.
