Jordan Surber Killed in Odessa Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 385 and Mercer

Odessa, Texas (November 13, 2021) – One person was killed on Friday in a two-vehicle crash in Odessa, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened around 7:22 a.m., on November 12, in the area of Highway 385 and Mercer.

Authorities said Jordan Surber of Odessa was driving a gray 2015 Ford Focus 4-door passenger car southbound in the inside lane of south Highway 385 approaching Mercer.

William Sissney of Oklahoma was driving a silver Peterbilt pulling a flatbed trailer in the crossover lane, attempting to turn eastbound onto Mercer ahead of the Focus.

Surber failed to control his speed and rear-ended the semi-trailer.

Surber was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash closed Highway 385 at the south service road of I-20.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
