Jose Ramirez Killed after Rear-Ending 18-Wheeler on Interstate 35 in Austin

Jose Ramirez ID’d as Driver Killed in Austin Crash on Interstate 35

Austin, Texas (April 21, 2022) – Police have identified the driver of a pickup-up truck who died after slamming into the back end of an 18-wheeler last week on Friday morning in Austin as Jose Eduardo Ramirez, 23.

The tragic wreck happened at around 3:00 a.m. on April 15 in the 9000 block of South Interstate 35.

Police said Ramirez, a resident of Lockhart, was driving his pickup-up truck on South Interstate 35 when he rear-ended an 18-wheeler that was parked on the right shoulder.

Ramirez was declared dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.

The crash remains under investigation.
