Anthony Palomo Killed, Dane Yates Seriously Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 1006 in Orange County

18-Year-Old Anthony Palomo Killed, Dane Yates Seriously Injured in Orange County Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 1006 

Orange County, Texas (February 18, 2020) – One person was killed, and another was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash early Tuesday morning in South Orange County, according to the DPS.

The fatal crash occurred just before 5:30 a.m. on FM 1006.

DPS said Anthony Palomo, 18, of Woodville, was driving a 2005 Honda passenger car westbound on the highway when he lost control and skidded sideways. The Honda crossed into the eastbound lanes and was struck by an eastbound Ford SUV driven by Dane Yates, 47, of Port Arthur.

Palomo was pronounced dead at the scene.

Yates was taken to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont with serious injuries.

All eastbound and westbound traffic lanes of FM 1006 were closed following the crash.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
