Jose Rodriguez and Barry Tisdale Injured in Somerville Crash on State Highway 36
Somerville, Texas (June 9, 2023) – Jose Vega Daniel Rodriguez, 31, and Barry Tisdale, 62, of Waller, were injured after they were involved in a deadly traffic crash on Sunday evening in Somerville.
According to the Somerville Police Department, the crash happened just after 5:00 p.m. Sunday, June 4, in the 16900 block of State Highway 36.
Police said Rodriguez was driving a gray 2007 Ford F150 pickup truck southbound on State Highway 36 when he crossed the turn lane and collided head-on with a northbound white 2019 GMC pickup truck, driven by Nicolas Hinojosa, 28, of Taft.
Emergency crews had to use the jaws of life to remove all occupants involved in the crash.
Hinojosa died at the scene of the crash, and his passenger, Tisdale, was transported to St. Joseph in College Station. Rodriguez was transported to St. Joseph in Bryan in an unknown condition.
The northbound lanes of SH 36 were closed for several hours as the investigation took place.
The crash remains under investigation.
