Joseph Kiliewer Killed in Amarillo Two-Vehicle Crash on Spur 228

Amarillo, Texas (December 8, 2023) – An 18-year-old man was killed Thursday night in a two-vehicle crash in Amarillo, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 10:00 p.m., December 7, in the 605 block of Spur 228.

Police said a red Toyota sedan was traveling southbound when the driver lost control, skidded into oncoming traffic, and collided with a northbound gray Nissan sedan.

The Toyota driver, 18-year-old Joseph Hunter Kiliewer, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The occupants of the Nissan were taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The Amarillo Police Department’s Traffic Investigation Squad is conducting the investigation.
