Bicyclist Killed in Texas City Crash on Emmett F Lowry Expressway and State Highway 3

Texas City, Texas (April 9, 2023) – A bicyclist died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver early Sunday morning in Texas City, police said.

The deadly crash happened shortly after 3:30 a.m. on Emmett F Lowry Expressway and State Highway 3.

According to the police, the cyclist was hit by a vehicle whose driver fled the scene.

The cyclist died in the crash.

Police closed FM 1764 for several hours during the investigation.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the collision is asked to call Texas City police at 409-643-5720.
