Joseph Nunez Killed in Motorcycle Accident at U.S. 81 and County Road 4228 in Wise County

Joseph Nunez ID’d as Motorcyclist Killed in Wise County Crash at U.S. 81 and County Road 4228

Wise County, Texas (July 18, 2023) – The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the motorcyclist who died following a traffic crash on Saturday afternoon in Wise County as Joseph Nunez, 47, of College Station.

The deadly crash happened at about 1:17 p.m. Saturday, July 15, at the intersection of U.S. 81 and County Road 4228.

DPS said a Dodge Dakota was traveling on County Road 4228 when its driver failed to yield the right of way at the stop sign and struck a motorcycle driven by Nunez.

Nunez was airlifted to Wise Health System Hospital in Decatur, where he was declared dead.

DPS is investigating the crash.
