Lakeshia Savala and Joanna Cain Killed in Midlothian Two-Vehicle Crash on US Highway 287

Midlothian, Texas (November 26, 2023) – Two women were killed and two others were injured early Saturday morning in a wrong-way crash in Midlothian, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around midnight, November 25, on Highway 287, just past Walnut Grove and Plainview Roads.

Police said a vehicle was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of the highway when it crashed head-on into another vehicle.

One of the vehicles caught fire after the crash.

The wrong-way driver and one of the passengers were pronounced dead at the scene. They have been identified as Lakeshia Savala, 38, and Joanna Cain, 38.

Another passenger in the wrong-way vehicle and the driver of the other vehicle were airlifted to the hospital in critical condition.

The police are investigating the crash.
