Joseph Perry Injured in Rose City Motorcycle Crash on Interstate 10

Rose City, Texas (November 13, 2020) – A man was injured in a motorcycle crash Thursday morning in Rose City, according to the Texas DPS.

The crash happened around 8:15 a.m., November 12, on Interstate 10.

DPS said a 2014 Ford pickup truck was traveling westbound in the inside lane and was being followed by a 2004 Honda motorcycle.

The Ford slowed due to stopped traffic, and the motorcyclist also moved into the right lane when he saw the traffic.

As the motorcyclist was moving to the right lane, the Ford pulled in front of him. The Ford was then hit by the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist Joseph Perry, 36, of Beaumont, was taken to St. Elizabeth hospital with minor injuries. He was wearing a helmet.

The Ford driver, Hector Robles, 22, of Vidor, was uninjured in the crash and was cited for an unsafe lane change.

An investigation into the crash is underway.

We wish Joseph Perry a quick recovery.

Most motorcycle crashes are caused by negligent drivers who don’t keep a proper lookout or fail to yield the right-of-way. Because motorcyclists are vulnerable, their injuries are usually severe, often suffering from road rash, broken bones, brain injuries, amputations, or spinal cord injuries.
