Joshua Benz Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 20 in Harrison County

Joshua Benz ID’d as Victim in Harrison County Fatal Crash on Interstate 20 near Waskom

Harrison County, Texas (June 17, 2023) – The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the person who died following a two-vehicle crash on Monday morning in Harrison County as Joshua D. Benz, 42, of Grand Saline.

The fatal crash happened at about 5:00 a.m. Monday, June 12, on Interstate 20, just west of Waskom.

DPS said Benz was driving a van westbound on Interstate 20 when he failed to maintain in a single lane and lost control of the van, which rolled over.

A semi, driven by Kwabena A. Yeboah, 42, of Cumming, Georgia, was heading westbound on Interstate 20, slammed into Benz’s van before striking a cable barrier.

Benz was declared dead at the scene.

Yeboah did not suffer any injuries in the crash.

No further details were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
