Joshua Ivie Killed in Houston Pedestrian Accident on North Freeway

Houston, Texas – A man was killed early Saturday morning in a pedestrian accident in Houston, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened around 2:55 a.m., February 3, in the 12500 block of North Freeway.

Police said a 27-year-old man was driving a Chevrolet Silverado southbound on the freeway and as he was exiting the freeway, he noticed a silver Kia Soul, which was disabled from a previous crash, in the right-hand lane of the exit ramp. The Chevrolet collided with the Kia, which then struck 33-year-old Joshua Ivie, of Houston, who had exited his disabled vehicle.

Ivie was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Chevrolet driver was found to be impaired, stopped, and remained at the scene.

The police are investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, bicycle, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
