Three Injured in Car Accident on I-10 in San Antonio

Man, Woman and Child Injured in San Antonio Crash on I-10

San Antonio, Texas (December 22, 2019) – Three people were injured in a suspected DUI crash early Sunday morning in San Antonio, authorities said.

The crash happened at about 3:20 a.m. on I-10 near Autumn Stage.

Authorities said a car occupied by a man, woman and child stalled out on the side of the freeway and a Bexar County sheriff’s deputy came to their aid. The deputy immediately called for a tow truck.

As the stalled vehicle was being loaded onto the tow truck, a woman crashed into the patrol car. The child had been placed into the patrol vehicle to stay warm.

The impact caused the patrol car to roll over onto its side.

The man and the woman were pinned underneath the upside-down vehicle. The deputy managed to avoid being hit.

The man and a woman were pulled out from underneath the vehicle by the responding firefighters. Both adults and the child were taken to the hospital with multiple injuries.

The driver who crashed into the patrol car was taken to University Hospital to be tested for DWI.

The crash remains under investigation.
