Justin Abshire Injured in Car Crash on I-10 in Jefferson County

Justin Abshire Injured in Jefferson County Multi-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 10

Jefferson County, Texas (December 28, 2022) – One person was injured Tuesday afternoon in a multi-vehicle crash in Jefferson County, according to the Texas DPS.

The crash happened around 2:10 p.m., December 27, on Interstate Highway 10 west, near the Hamshire exit.

DPS said a 2017 Land Rover SUV was traveling westbound when it rear-ended a vehicle that left the scene. The Land Rover was then rear-ended by a 2019 Acura SUV, causing a chain reaction involving a 2022 Honda SUV, a 2015 Dodge SUV, a 2020 Chevrolet passenger car, a 2013 Dodge SUV, a 2019 Ford pickup, and a 2015 Nissan SUV.

The driver of the 2019 Ford pickup, 39-year-old Justin Abshire of Lake Arthur, was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the 2015 Nissan SUV, 33-year-old Kirk Palmer of Winnie, was uninjured in the crash.

The driver of the 2017 Land Rover SUV, 41-year-old Linus Geake of Inez, was not injured.

The driver of the 2019 Acura SUV, 20-year-old Carson Cunningham of Houston, was not injured.

The driver of the 2022 Honda SUV, 24-year-old Caleb Martotte of Destrehan, La., was not injured.

The driver of the 2015 Dodge SUV, 25-year-old Ethan Baldwin of Prairieville, was not injured.

The driver of the 2020 Chevrolet passenger car, 44-year-old Laura Wilt of Cypress, was not injured.

The driver of the 2013 Dodge SUV, 61-year-old Robert Crowell of Silverhill, Al., was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
