Killeen ISD Student Injured in Killeen Pedestrian Accident near Hilltop Loop and Wales

Killeen, Texas (September 1, 2020) – A Killeen ISD student was hit by a truck on Monday in Killeen, according to police.

The accident happened on August 31, near Hilltop Loop and Wales Drive.

Police said the middle school student had just gotten off a school bus and was crossing the street in front of the bus when they were hit by a truck.

The victim was airlifted to a hospital in an unknown condition.

Killeen ISD is reminding drivers that it is against Texas law to pass a school bus with flashing red lights and/or stop signs displayed. Motorists should also slow down when a bus is flashing yellow lights as that is a signal the bus is about to stop.

The Killeen ISD police and the Killeen Police Department are investigating the accident.
