Lenard Coleman Killed in San Marcos Pedestrian Accident on State Highway 123

San Marcos, Texas (June 22, 2023) – A man was killed early Wednesday morning in a hit-and-run accident in San Marcos, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened just before 1:00 a.m., June 21, on State Highway 123.

Police said 69-year-old Lenard Green Coleman was struck by a delivery truck in the outbound lanes. The driver fled the scene and has been identified but not charged.

Shortly after, a silver SUV turned left onto the highway from Ebony Street and struck Coleman. The driver of the SUV fled the scene after the accident, and officers believe the driver lives in the neighborhood.

Coleman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The police are asking the public for any information that can help identify the SUV driver.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
