Angela Vanek, Jessica Haygood, Child Hospitalized after Polk County Crash on Highway 190 near Livingston

Polk County, Texas (August 6, 2022) – Three people, including a child, were injured in a two-vehicle collision late Thursday afternoon in Polk County, according to a report by the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The crash occurred just after 4:00 a.m. Thursday, August 4, on Highway 190 in the Indian Springs Community, approximately 10 miles east of Livingston.

As per the DPS report, a 2013 Ford F-250 pickup truck, driven by Angela Vanek, 45, of Livingston, was traveling eastbound when she stopped and waited for traffic to pass before turning left.

A 2014 GMC pickup truck, driven by Jessica Haygood, 35, of Woodville, struck the driver’s side of Vanek’s vehicle. As a result of the crash, Vanek’s truck flipped on its roof while Haygood’s truck veered off the highway and hit trees.

Vanek and her juvenile passenger were transported to the Livingston hospital in unknown condition. Haygood was also taken to the same hospital with unspecified injuries.

Further details regarding the crash were not immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
