Jay Wadsworth Killed in Farm Tractor Crash on FM 1585 in Lubbock County

Jay Wadsworth ID’d as Person Killed in Lubbock County Crash on FM 1585

Lubbock County, Texas (September 9, 2022) – Authorities have identified the person who died Thursday night following a crash involving a farm tractor in Lubbock County as Jay Guy Wadsworth, 85, of Lubbock.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the deadly crash happened around 8:40 p.m., September 8, in the 4200 block of E. FM 1585.

DPS said a pickup truck was traveling eastbound on FM 1585 when it collided with a farm tractor that was crossing the road. A second pickup truck crashed into the wreckage on the roadway.

The driver of the tractor, now identified as Wadsworth, died at the scene of the crash.

The other two drivers were taken to University Medical Center for treatment. They have been identified as Robert Alvin Stevens and Robbie Jean Stevens.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
