Leslie Karen Mercado Killed in Sherman Pedestrian Crash on US-75 

Sherman, Texas (January 21, 2021) – A woman was fatally hit by a truck Wednesday morning in Sherman, according to police.

The crash occurred just after 9:00 a.m., on U.S. Highway 75 at the Angels of Care parking lot.

Police said a semi-truck left the highway and hit Leslie Karen Mercado, 23, of Gunter, and three vehicles in the parking lot.

Mercado was taken to a local hospital, where she later died.

The accident closed the northbound frontage road, and the northbound I-37 was closed down to one lane.

The police are investigating the crash. Anyone who was driving through the area and happened to witness the crash or have any dash camera video or anything that may show what happened here is asked to call the police department.
