Callahan County, Texas (October 6, 2023) – The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the woman who died on Wednesday afternoon following a traffic accident involving two vehicles in Callahan County as Lina De Loving Saucedo, 93.

The two-vehicle wreck happened at about 12:06 p.m. Wednesday, October 4, at Farm-to-Market Road 603 and County Road 258.

As per the DPS’s report, a pickup truck driven by Saucedo was traveling westbound on CR 258 when she failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of FM 603.

Saucedo’s truck collided with another pickup truck towing a trailer traveling northbound on FM 603.

The impact of the collision caused Saucedo’s truck to flip over and the second truck to jackknife and cross the FM 603 southbound before coming to a rest on the west side of the road.

Saucedo died at the scene. The second driver, Paul James, 57, of Clyde, was transported to Hendrick North with non-incapacitating injuries.

The DPS is investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, bicycle, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
