Malachi Barker and David Galvan Injured in El Paso Motorcycle Crash on Airway

El Paso, Texas (December 26, 2021) – Two people were injured on Christmas Eve in a motorcycle crash in East-Central El Paso, according to the police.

The crash occurred on December 24, in the 1100 block of Airway.

Police said Malachi Barker, 25, was riding his 2021 Harley Davidson Road Glide northbound when he veered off the roadway and hit the curb. The motorcycle continued across the sidewalk into a parking lot, where it struck a Dodge Charger that was exiting the parking lot.

Barker was taken to the hospital with severe head injuries. His passenger, David Galvan, 34, was also taken to the hospital with minor head injuries. Both victims were not wearing helmets at the time of the crash.

The Dodge driver and passenger were uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

We hope Malachi Barker and David Galvan recover quickly.

Most motorcycle crashes are caused by negligent drivers who don’t keep a proper lookout or fail to yield the right-of-way. Because motorcyclists are vulnerable, their injuries are usually severe, often suffering from road rash, broken bones, brain injuries, amputations, or spinal cord injuries. In some cases, the accident results in death.
