Three Riders Injured in Orange County Motorcycle Crash on Interstate 10

Orange County, Texas (May 10, 2020) – Three motorcyclists were injured Saturday morning after they were sideswiped by a dump truck in Orange County, according to a local news release.

The crash happened around 11:30 a.m., May 9, on the feeder road of Interstate 10.

DPS said that a 2001 Peterbilt dump truck was heading eastbound in the inside lane of the feeder road when the driver changed lanes and sideswiped a 2014 black Harley Davidson motorcycle, a 2017 white Harley Davidson motorcycle and a 2009 gray Harley Davidson motorcycle.

The rider of the 2014 black Harley Davidson, a 45-year-old Silsbee man, was taken to St. Elizabeth hospital with serious injuries.

The rider of the 2017 white Harley Davidson motorcycle, a 54-year-old Vidor man, and the rider of the 2009 gray Harley Davidson motorcycle, a 49-year-old Lumberton man, were taken to St. Elizabeth with minor injuries.

The driver of the dump truck, a 55-year-old California man, was taken to a hospital for minor injuries. He was cited for changing lanes when unsafe. 

The crash remains under investigation.
