Pedestrian Injured in Hit-and-Run Accident on Guadalupe Street in Austin

Person Hospitalized after Austin Pedestrian Accident on Guadalupe Street and 22nd Street; Jennifer Juarez Arrested
Austin, Texas (January 12, 2019) – A pedestrian was struck and injured by a vehicle in a hit-and-run accident Thursday afternoon in Austin, police said.
The accident took place at around 12:00 p.m. Thursday, January 10 on Guadalupe Street and 22nd Street.
According to the police, for reasons still under investigation, the pedestrian was hit by a vehicle driven by Jennifer Juarez. Reportedly, Juarez got out of her car, picked up debris from her vehicle, and fled the scene without rendering aid to the injured pedestrian.
Responding paramedics took the pedestrian to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers were able to track Juarez down to her place of employment where she admitted to striking the pedestrian. She was then arrested.
No further details were immediately reported. The crash remains under investigation by police.
