Kordell “KJ” Stiggers Killed in Erath County Pedestrian Accident on U.S. 281

Erath County, Texas (March 24, 2021) – A man was fatally hit by a vehicle early Sunday morning in Erath County, near Stephenville, according to the DPS.

The deadly accident happened around 12:20 a.m., March 21, on U.S. 281.

According to a preliminary investigation, Kordell “KJ” Stiggers, 22, of Manor, was walking in the northbound lane of the highway when he was struck by a northbound 2012 Ford Taurus driven by 27-year-old Bryce M. Burrell.

Stiggers was killed in the accident.

Burrell and his two passengers, a 22-year-old man and a 21-year-old man, were uninjured in the crash.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
