Ronald Ulrich Seriously Injured in Lufkin Two-Vehicle Crash on North John Redditt Drive

Lufkin, Texas (July 15, 2020) – A man was seriously injured Monday night in a two-vehicle crash in Lufkin, according to police.

The crash was reported around 9:10 p.m. July 13, in the 1100 block of North John Redditt Drive, just north of Webber Street.

Police said Ronald Ulrich, 40, of Lufkin, was driving a pickup truck northbound when he rear-ended an 18-wheeler hauling chickens.

The chicken hauler was empty at the time of the crash.

The impact caused the pickup truck to catch fire, and Good Samaritans freed Ulrich. He was taken to a local hospital and later taken to Memorial Hermann in Houston with serious injuries. He was placed at the shock trauma intensive care unit.

No other injuries were reported.

The crash remains under investigation.

We wish Ronald Ulrich a quick recovery.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
