Woman Injured in Austin Car Crash on East William Cannon Drive

Austin, Texas (July 22, 2019) – A woman was injured in a hit-and-run accident Saturday afternoon in Austin, according to a local news release.

The crash took place around 2:26 p.m. July 20, in the 4500 block of East William Cannon Drive.

As per the report, a white Lincoln Navigator rear-ended another vehicle for unknown reasons on the roadway. The impact pushed the vehicle 20-feet into a creek.

A witness followed the suspect to Branchwood and Bucks Run where the driver left the vehicle and fled on foot. The suspect is a Hispanic man in his 20s.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and found the woman with cuts on her arm, along with pain in her chest and shoulders. She was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The suspect, 25-year-old Brayan Bustillo, was later arrested at his residence and was charged with failure to stop, and failure to render aid.

An investigation is underway.
