Shawn Shelby Seriously Injured in Lubbock Motorcycle Accident at U.S. Highway 84 and FM 1294

Lubbock, Texas (July 16, 2019) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash with a semi-truck, just west of Shallowater, a local news source reported.

The accident was reported around 2:30 p.m. July 14, in the area of U.S. Highway 84 and Farm-to-Market 1294.

DPS said 40-year-old Shawn Shelby was riding a motorcycle westbound on U.S. 84 when he lost control on a curve and crossed into the eastbound lanes where the motorcycle collided with a semi-truck.

Shelby was taken to a Lubbock hospital with serious injuries.

Eastbound traffic on US 84 was diverted onto FM 1294.

The crash remains under investigation.
