Man Dies After Being Hit by Vehicle While Trying to Cross Street in Fort Worth

Fort Worth, Texas (November 13, 2023) — A man was hit and killed by a vehicle on Highway 287 in Fort Worth Saturday night, according to Fort Worth Police.

The fatal accident happened at about 8:45 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Highway 287 near Blue Moun Road.

According to the Fort Worth Police Department, a woman called saying her husband had been hit by a vehicle.  Officers responded to the scene and located a man in the grassy median on the northbound side of 287.

Despite life-saving measures from first responders, the man succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the man had been arguing with his wife before they pulled over. Reportedly, the man got out of the vehicle and was struck by another vehicle while trying to cross the highway.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the victim remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

The crash remains under investigation.
