Man Hit, Killed by DPS Trooper on Colorado Street in Austin

50-Year-Old Man Killed in Austin Pedestrian Accident on Colorado Street at 13th Street

Austin, Texas (April 15, 2021) – A 50-year-old man was fatally hit by a DPS trooper Thursday morning in Austin, according to police.

The deadly accident happened around 3:45 a.m. on Colorado Street at 13th Street, just west of the Texas State Capitol building.

DPS said the trooper was patrolling the area and was traveling northbound on Colorado Street. As he was turning left on 13th Street, he hit the man who was lying on the street.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

No further details were provided.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
