Man Killed in San Antonio 18-Wheeler Crash on South Loop 1604 near U.S. Highway 281

San Antonio, Texas (July 27, 2023) – A man was killed Tuesday morning in a crash involving an 18-wheeler in San Antonio’s South Side, according to the deputies.

The fatal crash happened around 9:30 p.m., July 25, on South Loop 1604 near U.S. Highway 281.

Deputies said they were working on another crash nearby when a truck collided with an 18-wheeler and caught fire.

The driver was trapped inside the burning truck and was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity has not been released.

No other details were provided.

The deputies are investigating the crash.
