Man Killed in Fort Worth Crash on North Texas Express

Fort Worth, Texas (March 18, 2023) – A man died after a truck went airborne an landed on top of his car on Thursday evening in Fort Worth, according to authorities.

The deadly two-vehicle crash happened at around 6:56 p.m. Thursday, March 16, in the 100 block of the North Texas Express Westbound toll lanes of Northeast Loop 820. The crash occurred between Riverside and I35W.

Authorities said the man was driving a passenger car westbound in the toll lanes of Northeast Loop 820 while a pickup truck was also heading westbound in the toll lanes of Northeast Loop 820. The pickup truck driver made an abrupt movement to exit onto the North Texas Express lane exit ramp.

The pickup reportedly crashed into the crash attenuator that divides the lanes of travel and the exit lanes. After the impact, the pickup went airborne and landed on top of the passenger car. Both vehicles then came to rest.

The driver of the passenger car was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the pickup was uninjured.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
