The fatal crash happened on February 8, in the 2400 block of Commercial Avenue near Sharmain Place and Sunglo Drive.

Police said an older-looking truck was racing a red sedan northbound on Commercial Avenue at high speed when the older truck hit a patch of water on the road, lost control, and hit a southbound truck.

The driver of the older truck, an 18-year-old man, was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. His passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other truck driver, a man in his 50s, was also taken to the hospital for treatment.

The police are investigating the crash.

“When a person has suffered a grave personal injury in an accident due to someone else’s negligence, the most overwhelming emotion they feel is a sense of injustice. They often ask how such a life-altering event could have happened to them,” attorney Joel A. Gordon said. “The next question usually is, who can help me?” Mr. Gordon added.

A legal advocate can represent an injury victim or the family of a deceased victim. The attorney will file a claim on behalf of the victim and will have the responsibility of citing existing codes, laws, or statutes which were violated.
