Coryell County, Texas (December 1, 2022) – A man was killed Monday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash in Coryell County, according to the Texas DPS.

The deadly accident happened on November 28, on State Highway 9 near IH-14.

DPS said a Chevrolet pickup truck, a 2008 Nissan Maxima and a 1999 Dodge 1500 were merging onto IH 14 from eastbound SH 9. The Chevrolet driver swerved to avoid debris in the roadway, and the vehicle collided with Nissan before colliding with the Dodge, causing it to spin and roll over severally.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A.
