Man Killed in Two-Car Crash at West Division Street and North Davis Drive in Arlington

Arlington, Texas – A man who was fleeing the scene of another crash was killed Friday evening in a two-vehicle crash in Arlington, according to the Arlington Police Department.

The fatal crash happened around 7:00 p.m., June 14, at the intersection of West Division Street and North Davis Drive.

Police said the man was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze CZT on West Division Street at a high speed when he ran a red light at the intersection, started swerving, crossed into the eastbound lanes of West Division Street, and crashed into a Ford bus.

The man was ejected from the Cruze and was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

The bus driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers said the Cruze driver had earlier rear-ended a Ford F-150 in the 600 block of West Division Street and both drivers had pulled over to exchange information. The Chevrolet driver told the Cruze driver that she was calling the police because the Cruze driver was intoxicated. The man got back into his Cruze and fled westbound on West Division Street where he crashed into the bus.

Alcohol was found alcohol in the Cruze.

The police are investigating the crash.
