Houston, Texas (September 1, 2021) – According to the police, an employee with the City of Houston was killed Monday morning in a workplace accident involving an airboat in Houston.

The deadly accident happened around 9:20 a.m., August 30, at the Houston Public Works Japhet Service Center, located in the 100 block of Japhet Street.

Police said Manuel Castillo, a mechanic, was performing preventative maintenance at the Service Center when he was involved in an accident. 

Castillo was killed in the accident.

No other information regarding the accident was available.

An investigation is underway.
