Manuel Gonzalez Killed, and Melissa Tristan Injured in NE El Paso Two-Vehicle Crash on Gateway North and Kenworthy

El Paso, Texas (July 31, 2023) – One person was killed, and another was injured early Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Northeast El Paso, according to the police.

The crash happened on July 30, in the 10600 block of Gateway North and the 10600 block of Kenworthy.

Police said a tanker was traveling northbound on Gateway North and was making a left turn onto Kenworthy to head westbound. At the same time, Manuel Alejandro Gonzalez, 34, from Chaparral, New Mexico, along with passenger Melissa Tristan, 36, from Socorro, were traveling at a high rate of speed, entered the intersection on a red light and crashed into the tanker.

Gonzalez was killed in the crash. Tristan was taken to a local hospital with critical injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
