Marcela Bustamante Killed in Jones County Two-Vehicle Crash at CR 354 and US 83
Jones County, Texas (May 6, 2021) – A woman was killed, and three other people were injured Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Jones County, according to the DPS.
The fatal crash occurred on May 3, at the intersection of CR 354 and US 83, south of Anson.
DPS said a Dodge Nitro was stopped on CR 354 while a Mazda was traveling northbound on US 83.
The Dodge pulled out onto US 83 and was hit by the Mazda.
Marcela Bustamante, 74, of Anson, who was a passenger in the Mazda, was taken to Hendrick Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
The driver and passenger of the Dodge were taken to Hendrick with stable non-incapacitating injuries.
The Mazda driver was taken to Hendrick Medical Center with serious incapacitating injuries.
The DPS is investigating the crash.
