Marco Antonio Ortiz ID’d as Pedestrian Killed in McAllen Crash on Bicentennial Boulevard
McAllen, Texas (April 16, 2019) – The pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle early Saturday morning in McAllen has been identified as Marco Antonio Ortiz, 38, according to police.
The tragic accident happened just before 2 a.m. Saturday, April 13 on Bicentennial Boulevard.
Police said Ortiz was crossing Bicentennial Boulevard when he was hit by a vehicle driven by Jorge Luis Garcia, 19.
Ortiz died in the accident.
Garcia’s vehicle was located near the 3300 block of Expressway 83. Police determined Garcia was under the influence and showed signs of alcohol consumption.
Garcia’s passenger, Ana Patricia Galvan, 19, was arrested as well and charged with public intoxication.
Garcia was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter and accident involving personal injury or death, both second-degree felonies.
The crash remains under investigation.
