Marcos Noyola Castanon Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on US 87 in Lubbock

Lubbock, Texas – Two people were killed Saturday night in a wrong-way crash in Lubbock, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 11:30 p.m., April 13, at U.S. Highway 87 and Farm to Market Road 1585 overpass.

DPS said Christina Elaine Castro, 33, of Abilene, was driving a Dodge Ram northbound in the southbound lanes when she crashed head-on into a southbound Toyota passenger car driven by Marcos Noyola Castanon, 23, of Wilson.

Castro and Noyola Castanon were pronounced dead at the scene.

Noyola Castanon was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Castro was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. 

The weather conditions were clear and dry at the time of the crash.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
