Mark Jewett Killed in Eastland County Motorcycle Crash on FM 2214 at CR 237

Eastland County, Texas – A man was killed Thursday afternoon in a motorcycle crash in Eastland County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 4:58 p.m., February 22, at the intersection of FM 2214 and CR 237, about seven miles southeast of Eastland.

DPS said Terry Lee Rose, 49, of Eastland, was driving a pickup truck southbound on FM 2214 while Mark Allen Jewett, 61, of Waseca, Minnesota, was driving a motorcycle northbound on FM 2214 approaching CR 237.

Rose failed to yield the right-of-way while turning left onto CR 237 and struck Jewett.

Jewett was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Rose was uninjured in the crash.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
