Matias Tovar Killed in Odessa Two-Vehicle Crash at 87th Street and Andrews Highway
Odessa, Texas (February 21, 2019) – The child who was injured last month in a two-vehicle crash that killed his mother in Odessa has succumbed to his injuries, police said.
The fatal crash happened on Wednesday, January 30, at the intersection of 87th Street and Andrews Highway.
According to the Odessa police, Maylin Melo Perez failed to yield at the intersection and collided with a Hummer.
Perez was declared dead at the scene.
Matias Tovar, 6, was airlifted to Midland Memorial Hospital where he was declared dead Thursday morning.
A 2-year-old child was also taken to the hospital and has since been released.
The police are investigating the crash.
